Queensland Security Membership
In addition to your legal requirements, you must join an industry approved association to do any security work in Queensland, it helps to look after the security industry's integrity, professionalism, and conduct.
The BSCAA Queensland is an approved industry association for "Security Personnel" only.
MembershipBSCAA will:
Compliance auditsUpon joining BSCAA as a security member, you will be required to undertake a Code Of Compliance audit within the first twelve months of membership, with an independent auditor as appointed by the BSCAA Queensland. BSCAA will arrange a compliance audit of your firm every 3 years after the initial audit, to check that you follow the code of conduct. The Industry Licensing Unit sets a minimum standard for what BSCAA's code of conduct must cover. If you are an existing Security firm, you can supply a copy of your most recent Code of Compliance audit certification and you current security licence, and the BSCAA Queensland will schedule your next audit as per the scheduled guidelines. IMPORTANT: Before proceeding, please ensure you have the following documentation ready for upload.
Applications cannot be processed, and receive Board approval without the following:-
- Registration of Business - ABN Certificate
- Public Liability Insurance
- Workcover Insurance (need to apply for Workcover - apply here)
- Statutory Declaration of Gross Annual Turnover (download here)
Existing Security Firms please supply a copy of your current Security Firm License, and most recent Code of Compliance Audit Certification.
